Beer Name: Dominion Lager
Brewery: Old Dominion Brewing Company
Style: Dortmunder Lager
Average Score: 93/100
ABV%: 5.3

What it looks like:

Easy orange hue which is odd in a lager, but acceptable. Head fell quickly with medium lacing. I cannot see a casting bubble in the glass, again odd.

Appearance Score: 8

What is smells like:

Appealing to me, buttery with a hint of bready, biscuit nose. Inviting with a slight sweet smell. I also sense a carmel like malt, which could explain the color.

Aroma Score: 25

What is tastes like:

My first impression is the dryness of an over steeped tea. A casual dryness that starts disappears and then finishes. The malt is present as I continue with the tasting. Less sweet than I though, but a whisper of carmel pokes through. A creamy and slightly sweet rush cover your pallet right after you swallow.

Taste Score: 45

Probably my favorite aspect of this beer is the mouth feel, not overly dry and thick for a lager. Hearty and full with a dabble of a dry finish.

Mouthfeel Score: 15

Overall Notes:

Referenced as a Dortmunder Lager is like saying that you play Zeppelin Awesome. You better fucking bring it, or go the hell home. They could have easily has said Dortmunder “style” lager, which is a gentle bow out from the legend. But they did’t and I am glad, it is heavy hearty and flavor filled. This isn’t some pussy flavorless Pils, its a bangin lager that has had time and sweat poured into. Damn Good, grab it if you can.
